La Luz Property is a family-owned company, started in 2000. Our core team is David Burgess, Jeannie Lumb and daughter Nicki Lumb together with a small group of people who work with us, based overseas and in the UK.
Our comitment is to provide a clear, accountable and transparent search and buying process. Excellent customer service, together with a first rate property portfolio are what we pride ourselves on. Having started out on my father's market stall at the age of 5 ( is this a child labour issue?!), I learned the importance of giving customers a good service - and products they wanted to buy. If they didn't find what they wanted at your stall, they'd go next door. The same principles apply to property sales and I still get such a buzz from finding customers just what they're looking for.
It's not all been a business life for me , I was taken on a different journey for a while...from Probation Officer via University Lecturer to International Property Sales - in just 25 years! An unusual and varied career path, but I've enjoyed all the different challenges and have learned so much in every job I've done.
Since we first started selling property 18 years ago, we've built our business on the principles we value ourselves - openness, honesty, excellent customer service, knowledge of the international property market - and no hard sell
Our customers tel us that it's so important to them to deal with a company where they can pick up the phone and speak directly to someone about what they need to know. We're here and we're contactable.
It's been a steep and interesting learning curve being involved with our professional association the Association of International Property Professionals, from the beginning. I am currently Deputy Chair so can keep up to date with all the organisation's work and thinking - and hopefully contribute to it's development. Progress has been fast so far and we now have an organisation that gives consumers real confidence in buying from companies who are members.
Family and friends are what give me perspective in what is a fantastic, but sometimes crazy business world - they soon bring me down to earth. If I need time to think I don my swimming costume - and have been known to end up in France...............!

After a first career in the Probation Service I enjoy the challenge of being involved in my own business - and building relationships with customers, developers and partner agents . I have always been interested in property and over the years have personally bought and sold property in Greece, France and Spain.
The international property business does not consistently enjoy the best of reputations. As an individual business, we aim to work in an ethical manner. From the outset, we have been involved with the Association of International Property Professionals. On an individual basis, I aim to be as straightforward as possible, answer questions honestly and ensure that our customers have all the information they want and need for their property purchase.
In my spare time I enjoy music (a bit of an ageing hippy), and walking our dog. I am also making the most of the resurgence of Welsh rugby!!

Nicki Lumb,
I've been with La Luz Property since it began and have enjoyed each year here! Previously I worked in PR and Marketing roles in both public and private sector organisations for ten years. At La Luz I look after everything marketing-related, including our website.
My job involves liaising with lots of different people - including customers, design and marketing agencies, printers, journalists and developers. It's a very varied role in which no two days are the same! A highlight of this is getting to see new projects coming through and charting their progress.
On an international theme, once upon a time I was lucky enough to compile the very first Media Guide to the former Soviet Union - which was interesting and very challenging! My degree is in French and Russian and I love learning new languages.
Growing up surrounded by 'property talk' means that I love it too - and hopefully will be able to pass this on to my daughter.
